The Philippine government is considering launching another national vaccination drive for senior citizens and those aged five to 17.

Ma. Paz Corrales, medical consultant of the National Task Force (NTF) against Covid-19, said that the government was looking for ways to further ramp up its vaccination numbers.

“We have to ramp up the three [age groups], so the government is planning to have national vaccination days para tumaas ang ating vaccination because we hope to achieve 90 million [fully vaccinated Filipinos] by the end of June,” she said.

Booster shots will also be deployed in the planned vaccination days.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. earlier said the government was eyeing to provide 72.16 million booster doses to Filipinos by year end.

As of Feb. 2, only 7,704,701 Filipinos have received booster shots.
