Vaccine recipients who had received their second dose were less likely to be infected with the virus and if so recorded only mild symptoms, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) chief said on Monday.

FDA Director General Eric Domingo emphasized that it was important to take the second dose of the vaccine on the exact schedule.

The FDA continues to monitor vaccinations all over the country and conducts surveillance on the condition of vaccine recipients, he said.

More than six million people in the Philippines have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, the FDA said. Ariel Jack Tejado II
