The country will receive 38,400 doses of Covid-19 vaccine doses from AstraZeneca on Sunday, March 7, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said on Saturday.
“I would like to telll the public na ‘yung 38,400 na kulang ay darating po bukas more or less at 7 p.m.,” Galvez said as he led the rollout of AstraZeneca vaccines at the Ospital ng Parañaque District 2.
The first batch of AstraZeneca vaccines were delivered to the country on Thursday night. The initial shipment contained 487,200 doses.
The doses were from the Covax facility, a platform that seeks to provide countries equitable access to safe and effective vaccines.
Some 44 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines are expected from Covax.
Earlier, Galvez said the country would obtain 3.5 million doses of Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines from Covax in the first quarter of this year.
