Isang Facebook user ang maling nagpahayag na binili daw ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang isang barkong nagkakahalaga ng $2.9 bilyon mula sa Estados Unidos.
Ipinakita sa Facebook reel ang video at iba’t ibang larawan ng barko. Ang reel ay mayroon ding in-edit na text na nagbibigay impresyon na totoong nabili na ng Pilipinas ang barkong ito.
Natukoy ng reverse image search ang barko sa video bilang USS Gerald R. Ford.
Hindi mahanap ang orihinal na video na ginamit sa reel. Ngunit, mayroong ibang angulo ng video ang in-upload sa TikTok noong Mayo 30, 2024.
Noong Enero 17, 2024, nakumpleto ng Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group ang kanilang walong buwan na aktibidad sa Mediterranean Sea. Ito ang kanilang pinakahuling operasyon.
Aktibo ang opisyal na Facebook page ng USS Gerald R. Ford sa pag-post ng mga bagong ganap tungkol sa aircraft carrier, at walang ulat dito na binebenta ang barkong ito. Leigh San Diego
