FACT-CHECK: Wala pang direct flights sa pagitan ng Davao at Japan

Isang Facebook user na nagngangalang “Parayno Joseph” ang nagpahayag ng maling balita na mayroon nang direktang flight mula Davao International Airport patungong Japan.

Red Flag: Noong Oct. 27, may isang Facebook post na nagsabing ang mga airlines ng Singapore, Japan at Qatar ay nag-o-operate na sa Davao International Airport.

  • Ang caption ng post ay nagsasabing, “Davao City Congrats, dahil airlines ng SINGAPORE, JAPAN AT QATAR ay sa Davao International Airport na.. #highlight”

Mga Resibo: Wala pang inilalabas na opisyal na pahayag ang Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), ang Davao City Tourism Operations Office (DCTOO), o maging ang gobyerno ng Japan tungkol sa sinasabing direct flights mula Davao.

  • Noong nakaraang taon, binuksan ng Cebu Pacific ang kanilang pinakabagong ruta na biyahe mula Davao hanggang Bangkok, Thailand.
  • Sa isang press release, nag-anunsyo ang Cebu Pacific na magsisimula na ang kanilang flights mula Davao International Airport patungong Don Mueang International Airport sa Oct. 28, 2024.
  • Hindi nabanggit na kasama ang Japan sa mga rutang inanunsyo ng nasabing airline.
  • Noong Oct. 23, 2025, naglabas ng public advisory ang DCTOO sa kanilang official Facebook page para bigyang-babala ang publiko tungkol sa mga maling impormasyong kumakalat ukol sa mga rutang umano’y bibiyahe sa Davao.
  • Ayon sa DCTOO, ang Davao International Airport ay may direct flights lamang patungong Singapore, Qatar, Don Mueang (Bangkok, Thailand), at Hong Kong.

Rewind: Maraming Facebook page at profile ang nagpakalat ng maling impormasyon tungkol sa mga umano’y direct flights sa pagitan ng Davao City at Japan.

  • Noong Oct. 27, isang Facebook user ang nag post ng parehong claim.
  • Noong Oct. 23, naglabas ng babala ang DCTOO para pabulaanan ang mga kumakalat na balita tungkol sa Davao-Japan flight.
  • Nilinaw ng DCTOO na apat na ruta lamang ang kasama sa kanilang listahan at hindi nabanggit o kasali rito ang rutang Davao-Japan.

Bakit ito may fact-check: Kahit napatunayan na hindi totoo ang balitang ito, marami pa ring napaniwala sa post ni “Parayno Joseph.”

  • Naging positibo ang reaksyon ng publiko sa nasabing post, at umani ng 2,000 comments at 1,168 shares.
  • May mahigit 1.3 million followers ang Facebook user.

Bantay-fake: I-follow lamang ang mga kapani-paniwalang news sources.

  • Ugaliing mag verify ng impormasyon at maniwala lamang sa mga opisyal na anunsyo na galing sa mga lehitimong sources tulad ng mga opisyal na press release at government advisories. Francis Mediavillo
