FACT-CHECK: Video of Harry Roque collapsing mid-interview is AI-generated

Jul 17, 2025 | Fact Checked by PressOnePH

CLAIM: Harry Roque fainted during an interview.

RATING: SATIRE

A satirical video posted on Facebook claimed that former presidential spokesman Harry Roque collapsed in a behind-the-scenes interview footage.

The faked video first shows Roque talking in front of a mobile phone used to record the interview. Seconds later, he falls on the table in front of him.

The uploader, named “Juan Luna Blog,” wrote in the caption: “FYI – This video contains AI-generated content for illustrative or satirical purposes. It is not real and should not be taken as fact.”

An online AI detector concluded that the video was 95% AI-generated.

The portion of the clip used in the video, in which Harry Roque appears to collapse, is uploaded to his official Facebook page. In that video, he is seen being interviewed without any incident.

Roque himself clarified that the reel uploaded by the blog was AI-generated and said that he was “as strong as a carabao.”

As of writing, the Facebook reel has generated more than one million views, 269 shares, and 939 comments. Yance Dionisio
