Pinabulaanan ng ilang Tiktok video na hindi na tuloy ang Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) na itinakda sa Disyembre 2025.
Ipinakita ng isa sa mga video si Sen. Imee Marcos habang nasa isang briefing sa Davao de Oro noong ika-8 ng Marso 2025, kung saan tila tiniyak niya ang mga opisyal ng mga barangay na dumalo na hindi na magiging posible ang pagsagawa ng BSKE dahil sa mga isyung hinggil sa kakulangan ng oras.
Ang Senate Bill 2816, na inisponsor ni Marcos, ay naglalayong palawigin ang termino ng mga opisyal ng Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan sa apat na taon at ilipat ang halalan sa ika-20 ng Oktubre 2027.
Naaprubahan ang panukalang batas sa ikatlo at pinal na pagbasa nito sa Senado noong ika-14 ng Enero 2025, ngunit hindi pa ito nalalagdaan upang maging ganap na batas. Ito ay mismong ikinilala ng senadora sa naturang briefing.
“Hindi pa nakaupo ang Senate at Congress to decide kung four or six years,” anya ni Marcos.
Nagpalabas ng resolusyon ang Comelec na nagpapatupad ng isang calendar of activities para sa BSKE ngayong taon. Isinasaad nito na tuloy pa rin ang halalan sa ika-1 ng Disyembre 2025.
