CLAIM: Donald Trump claims that if he becomes US president again, he will remove the DDS’ access to the internet to prevent them from spreading fake news.
RATING: FALSE
A TikTok user uploaded an AI-manipulated video of former US president Donald Trump bad mouthing the so-called Duterte Die-hard supporters or DDS.
Trump supposedly said in the faked video, “When I become the president again, I assure the Filipino people that the DDS will no longer have access to the internet so they can’t spread more fake news.”
The audio, however, was detected to be AI-generated according to TrueMedia.org, a non-partisan, non-profit organization that seeks to expose AI-based disinformation.
TrueMedia.org also detected AI manipulation in the former US president’s face throughout the video.
In the AI-manipulated video, Trump also supposedly said that the DDS are gullible and easy to manipulate and that they should all be placed on an island.
Donald Trump has no record of releasing statements about the DDS.
The video clip of Trump was originally from his statement addressing the mob attack in the United States Capitol Building in Washington in January 2021. Aaron Bartilad
