CLAIM: Nagpasalamat si US President-elect Donald Trump kay dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte dahil sa “war on drugs” nito.

May lumabas na video sa TikTok na maling nagsabi na nagpasalamat si daw US President-elect Donald Trump kay dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte para sa kanyang “war on drugs.”

Ang video, na ipinost ng TikTok user na @spottedtrend17, ay may text overlay na nagsasabing: “Donald Trump nagpasalamat sa drug on war (sic) ni President Duterte.”

Gayunpaman, ang orihinal na video ay mula sa pagbisita ni Trump sa Pilipinas noong 2017 upang dumalo sa Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit na ginanap sa Maynila.

Sa kanyang talumpati, pinuri ni Trump ang maayos na pagho-host ng Pilipinas sa summit at binigyang-diin ang matibay na relasyon sa pagitan ng ASEAN at ng US.

Walang nabanggit si Trump tungkol sa “war on drugs” sa video. Wala ring ganitong pahayag na lumabas sa opisyal na transcript ng kanyang mga talumpati.
