CLAIM: TikTok video showing Duterte’s achievements in only three months as president.
RATING: FALSE
A pro-Duterte TikTok user posted a series of videos enumerating the supposed achievements of former president Rodrigo Duterte and falsely claiming that it was accomplished within the span of three months.
Some of the alleged achievements mentioned in the video were “no-more tanim-bala,” (bullet planted in passenger luggage) and “passport validity extended to 10 years,” among others.
“Achievement of President Rodrigo Duterte sa loob ng 3 BUWAN! Na hindi ibinabalita ng mga TV-Networks sa Pilipinas.”
(“President Rodrigo Duterte’s achievements in the span of 3 MONTHS! And TV networks in the Philippines don’t air this on the news”.)
An example of Duterte’s achievements early in his presidency was his signing of the Magna Carta for Women in 2016.
In 2018, Duterte signed into law the Free Irrigation Services Act,
Finally, the former president also implemented 911 as the new national emergency number in May 2018.
As official documents suggest, these achievements did not, in any way, occur within the span of just three months.
The video features 35 different slides, starting with “Wala ng Tanim-Bala.”
As of writing, the video has amassed a cumulative 137,500 likes, 2,975 comments, and 5,627 shares. Kenneth Fernando
