CLAIM: The Philippine military withdrew its support from the Marcos Jr. administration.

RATING: FALSE

A YouTube video falsely claimed that the Philippine military has turned against the Marcos Jr. administration.

Flagged content: The video’s thumbnail has an overlay caption that reads, “KARMA?! MGA ARMIES TINALIKURAN ANG ADMINISTRATION NI PBBM?! PNP AYAW KAY TORRE???”

  • The caption reads, “KARMA?! MGA ARMIES TINALIKURAN ANG ADMINISTRATION NI P B B M?! PNP AYAW KAY TORRE?!?”
  • In the video itself, the uploader used an overlay text that says, “Grabe! Men in uniform lumayas sa admin ni PBBM—Ayaw kay Torre bilang PNP chief, karma na ito!”

Our debunk: The photo of former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Oscar Albayalde and retired police officer and general Guillermo Eleazar that was used in the video was originally published by  PhilStar Global. They were from the national police, which is a civilian organization, not a military one.

  • On Sept. 18, 2025, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reaffirmed the military’s loyalty to the Constitution amid calls from some groups for the military to withdraw its support from the government.
  • Before the “Trillion Peso March,” which took place on Sept. 21, 2025, the PNP released a statement saying that they fully support the president and the nation.
  • Under the Constitution, public officials must serve everyone without discrimination or political bias, and all are mandated by law not to participate in any partisan political activity.

Rewind: During the Trillion Peso March, rallyists mentioned and criticized Marcos Jr.. He was one of the many politicians who were criticized and called out by protesters over massive corruption in flood-control projects.

  • The Palace said the whole executive branch, which includes the president, was ready for a lifestyle check.

Why we fact-checked this: As of writing, the YouTube video has accumulated 3,845 views, 13 comments, and 288 likes.
