Facebook page “Showbizfinds” falsely claimed that Filipino health advocate and former vice presidential candidate Dr. Willie Ong had passed away, allegedly due to complications from his illness.
The post included malicious text falsely reporting his demise: “Hindi na kinaya ni Doc Willie Ong.” “Bakit ang bilis naman.”
Ong himself debunked these rumors in his recent YouTube video, where he addressed his followers and reassured them of his well-being. He also expressed his gratitude to everyone praying for his recovery.
Ong revealed that he has a rare abdominal cancer, and is undergoing treatment abroad.
In a one-on-one interview with Jessica Soho on September 22, Ong shared his struggles with his health condition.
