CLAIM: TV Patrol promotes an online casino.

RATING: FALSE

Videos of TV Patrol were manipulated and used to promote online casinos on Facebook in August and November.

The manipulated videos of TV Patrol that featured anchors Karen Davila and Bernadette Sembrano included interviews with different personalities to falsely imply that the video was authentic.

TrueMedia.org, a non-profit organization focused on detecting AI-generated content, found  the videos to have “substantial evidence of manipulation,” with the findings independently verified by TrueMedia.org’s human analysts.

TrueMedia.org also detected the doctored video featuring Davila and Sembrano to have AI-generated audio, with a confidence level of 100%.

The original frame of Sembrano was broadcast on Oct. 8, while Davila’s cannot be traced as of writing. Leigh San Diego
