CLAIM: TikTok videos claim that fictional character Nick Fury has voiced support for Rodrigo Duterte.

RATING: FALSE

A fake quote card circulating on TikTok falsely claimed that Nick Fury had praised former president Rodrigo Duterte for his antics during the series of congressional hearings on the controversial “war on drugs.”

Nick Fury, a fictitious character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe famously portrayed by American actor Samuel L. Jackson, can be seen in the fake quote card.

It said: “Philippine congressmen should be ashamed of themselves. Mr. Duterte has done so many (sic) for his country. To be prosecuted by your own people for fighting the criminality is avengers-level (sic) threat. For (sic) my opinion, mr. Duterte is the bestest (sic) president in the solar system alongside with president-elect [Donald] Trump.”

Jackson has never said anything about Duterte on record. A check on his X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts confirms this.

Moreover, Jackson posted a reel on Instagram showing support for Trump’s rival, Kamala Harris, contradicting the claim.

As of writing, TikTok user @Gemstone👀’s post gathered 122,000 views, 15,000 likes, 1,100 comments and 2,400 shares. Hurt Allauigan
