Maling pinabulaanan ng ilang Tiktok video na ang labing-pitong Pinoy na inaresto sa Qatar sa isang pro-Duterte rally ay ikinulong dahil daw nawalan na ng bisa ang kanilang mga QID o residence permit at visa.

Ang mga nasabing video ay ni-repost sa Facebook ng ilang mga users kasama ng ilang mga text-only post na nagsasabi ng parehong kabulaanan.

Muling ipinahayag ng kalihim ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) na si Hans Leo Cacdac na ang nasabing 17 indibidwal ay inaresto dahil sa umano’y “illegal assembly or gathering without permit” (ilegal na pagtitipon-tipon o pagtitipon na walang permiso) at “gatherings that potentially disturb public security” (mga pagtitipon na posibleng makagambala sa pampublikong seguridad).

Sa araw ng mga pag-aresto, ni-repost ng official Facebook page ng Philippine Embassy in Qatar ang isang advisory noong ika-13 ng Marso na pinaalalahanan ang mga Filipino national na ugaliing sumunod sa mga lokal na mga batas at kaugalian partikular na ang mga may kaugnayan sa mass demonstrations.

Ang caption ng post ang nagpapatunay na alam ng embassy na “several Filipino nationals have been arrested and detained,” (may mga Filipino nationals na inaresto at ikinulong).
