CLAIM: Officials like Delfin Lorenzana have been removed from their posts by the Marcos administration
RATING: FALSE
A TikTok video falsely claimed that Delfin Lorenzana and other supposed officials under the Marcos administration had been removed from office.
The video mentioned the supposed “reasons” why Lorenzana and the others had been removed, claiming he was allegedly “deposed” by the Marcos administration due to his ties with the Dutertes.
“V1RAL NA-SEBAK NA? Ito na ang inaantay ng lahat, Karma?” (“Viral, already removed? Is this the karma everyone’s waiting for?”)
A profile of Delfin Lorenzana from August 2022 shows that he had served as Secretary of National Defense under Duterte’s term from June 30, 2016-June 30, 2022.
A 2024 document also showed that Lorenzana became chairman of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority or BCDA on July 7, 2022 but stepped down in September 2024.
As of writing, the video has drawn a cumulative 98 likes, 10 comments, and 13 shares. Kenneth Fernando
