CLAIM:  Leila de Lima made an about-face when she said “Marcos pa rin” after saying “Marcos never” in 2022.

RATING: FALSE

An X user falsely claimed that former senator Leila de Lima said “Marcos pa rin” during a thanksgiving Mass in February 2024.

The user thus implied that de Lima is a hypocrite because, in 2022, she claimed that the former senator said, “Marcos Never.”

The X user used a photo of de Lima during her speech at a thanksgiving mass for her in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Church in Quezon City.

De Lima did not say “Marcos pa rin” during her speech.

Her speech primarily delved into her experiences from the moment she heard that a warrant of arrest was issued to her, her experiences during her stay in a detention cell, and her fight for justice for victims of former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte’s “fake” and “bloody” war on drugs.
