CLAIM: Sen. Risa Hontiveros has realized that the “Isang Kaibigan” book is harmless and not propaganda.
RATING: FALSE
Pro-Duterte social media user “Tio Moreno” falsely claimed that Sen. Risa Hontiveros had realized that Vice President Sara “Inday” Duterte’s children’s book “Isang Kaibigan” was harmless and not a propaganda material.
The image that Moreno uploaded to his account on Aug. 21 originally appeared on TikTok and Facebook videos of Hontiveros, in which she shared that she had received a copy of the book.
Hontiveros, who quizzed Duterte on the planned distribution of the book in public schools, has not made such comments since receiving a copy of it based on a scan of her digital channels and social media accounts.
As of writing, the post has received 2,813 reactions, 378 comments, and 196 shares. Leigh San Diego
