Kamakailang kumalat sa Facebook ang mga ad o patalastas kung saan nagbabahagi daw ang negosyanteng si Lance Gokongwei ng paraan para gawing milyones ang P15,000 ng isang tao sa maikling panahon lamang.
Sa mga pekeng ad na ito, maling pinalabas na ini-endorso daw ni Gokongwei ang isang cryptocurrency scam gamit ang mga larawan mula sa interview niya kasama si broadcaster Anthony Taberna noong 2023.
Ipinakita rin nito ang isang edited screenshot ng kanilang pribadong usapan umano at isang Facebook post kung saan sinabi daw ni Gokongwei na “hindi niya maitatago ang katotohanan” at “kailangang malaman ng mga tao” ang umano’y mga paraan na kumita ng malaking pera.
Nakakonekta ang advertisement sa isang pekeng storya na pinamagatang “The Central Bank Sues Lance Gokongwei over statements he made on live television,” na ngayon ay burado na rin.
Noong Agosto 19, nag-issue ang Gokongwei Group ng babala sa Facebook naghihimok sa publiko na maging listo laban sa cryptocurrency scams na gumagamit sa pangalang Gokongwei.
Naglabas na din ng parehong babala ang iba pang malalaking negosyo gaya ng Aboitiz Group na pinangungunahan ni Sabin Aboitiz at Ayala Corporation na pinangungunahan ni Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala.
Nagbabala na rin ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas laban sa AI-manipulated content sa social media na nanghihikayat sa publikong magpadala sa mga scam.
Kinondena naman ni Taberna ang paggamit ng interview niya sa panlilinlang ng mga tao sa mga scam. Hurt Allauigan (Translated by: Yesha Santos)
