Maling pinakalat ng isang video sa TikTok na “sumugod” daw sa Malacañang noong Hulyo ang mga kinatawan ng Amerika upang pakinggan ang “maka-panindig balahibong” anunsyo ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Taliwas sa sinasabi sa video, nagpunta sina United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III sa palasyo bilang visiting dignitaries.
Ito ay parte ng regular na ministerial affair sa pagitan ng Amerika at ng kaniyang mga kaalyado tulad ng Pilipinas.
Ito ay bahagi din ng 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue sa pagitan ng magkaalyadong bansa. Ang naturang pagkikita ay ikaapat na sa pagsasagawa ng naturang seremonya.
Ito rin ang kauna-unahang pagkakataon kung saan ang mga kinatawan ng Estados Unidos ay bumisita sa Maynila para sa naturang pagpupulong, sa halip na sa Washington, D.C. katulad noong 2016 at 2023.
Sa pagpupulong na ito, nangako ang makabilang panig na paiigtingin ang alyansang Pilipino-Amerikano sa mga usaping pang ekonomiya at militar.
Kasama din sa mga napagusapanang kasunduan ng pagkakaisa sa pagtugon sa mga isyung may kinalaman sa West Philippine Sea at Indo-Pacific Region.
Kasama sa naging seremonya sina Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo at Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. Hurt Allauigan
