FACT CHECK: Hindi endorser ng Coca-Cola si Rodrigo Duterte

Isang Facebook reel ang nagpakalat ng maling impormasyon na si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ay endorser umano ng softdrink brand na Coca-Cola.

Ang reuploaded video, mula kay Izang Wineland, ay kuha sa isang convenience store na matatagpuan umano sa “Orlando, CA,” base sa tekstong nasa orihinal na clip.

Makikita sa video ang mga customized Coke cans na may tatak gaya ng “FPRRD” (daglat ng Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte), “Mabuhay ka Tatay (FPRRD),” at “We love you (FPRRD) – Aringkingking.”

Sa reuploaded na bersyon ng video, may caption itong “Endorsement na c Tay Digs o Coke,” kasama ang dalawang AI-generated na larawan ni Duterte na may hawak na Coke.

Noong Abril 11, nag-post sa kanyang opisyal na Facebook account ang orihinal na uploader na si Flying Aringkingking. Ayon sa kanya, sariling gastos umano niya ang ginamit sa mga customized na Coke bilang pagpapakita ng suporta at pagmamahal kay Duterte.

Sa hiwalay na post, tinawag din niya ang pansin ng mga nag-share ng kanyang video nang walang proper credit, at binatikos ang paggamit ng clickbait captions para lang makakuha ng views.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang opisyal at pinakabagong endorser ng Coca-Cola Philippines ay ang P-pop girl group na BINI, na tampok sa nagbabalik na #ShareACoke campaign kung saan maaaring ipa-customize ang mga bote at lata ng Coke gamit ang pangalan ng customer.

Wala ring ebidensiyang nagpapakita na si Rodrigo Duterte ay opisyal na kinuha ng Coca-Cola upang maging kanilang endorser.
