Maling pinabulaanan ng isang post sa Facebook na diskuwalipikado na ang Alkalde ng Marikina, Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro, mula sa halalan 2025.
Ang post ay naglaman ng dalawang screenshot ng mga artikulo mula sa isang tabloid na maling ipinahayag na binawi na ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) and pagka-kandidato ni Teodoro bilang kinatawan ng unang distrito ng Marikina at lahat ng malilikom niyang boto ay mapapawalang bisa.
Bagama’t kinansela na ng Comelec and certificate of candidacy (COC) ni Teodoro, sa ngayon, wala pang pinal na desisyon ang Comelec en banc na idiskuwalipika si Teodoro. Ang kanyang pangalan ay magpapakita pa rin sa balota anya ng Comelec.
Noong ika-28 ng Marso, pinuna ni Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III ang Comelec en banc dahil sa mabagal nilang pag-aksyon sa isang resolusyon ng Comelec First Division noong ika-11 ng Dec. 2024 na itong nagkansela ng COC ni Teodoro.
“Napakalinaw ng desisyon ng First Division na kanselado ang COC ni Mayor Teodoro. Pero mahigit tatlong buwan na, bakit hindi pa rin ito naisasara? Comelec, kailangan ng mabilis at malinaw na aksyon,” anya ni Pimentel.
Isang residente ng Manila ang inaresto sa Marikina noong ika-12 ng Mayo dahil sa pamimigay ng kopya ng naturang tabloid.
