CLAIM: Grade 11 and Kinder will no longer be a part of the basic education curriculum

A Facebook post falsely claimed that Grade 11 and Kinder would no longer be a part of the Philippine basic education curriculum starting June 2025.

The photo included in the post further stated that students who complete Grade 10 can l automatically enroll in a college undergraduate program, implying that Grade 12 will likewise be removed from the curriculum.

It also claimed that five-year-olds can enroll directly in Grade 1 without first attending kindergarten or preschool.

There is no final decision from the Department of Education (DepEd) regarding changes in the programs.

The false claim was posted on a page named “Dole Phil,” posing as the official Facebook page of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The actual Facebook page of DOLE did not post anything regarding this issue. 

The link in the post directs to an online shopping website.

It drew a considerable amount of engagement — 434 reactions, 155 comments, and 5,200 shares. Regner Atutubo
