CLAIM: Video showing massive crowd from pro-Duterte Cebu People’s Indignation Rally.

A drone footage of a massive crowd was falsely claimed to be from a pro-Duterte “Cebu People’s Indignation Rally” in Mandaue, Cebu.
The video had edited text that read “Duterte pa rin sa Cebu” and a song with the line “Pilipinas, Duterte pa rin,” suggesting that the massive crowd showed up in support of ex-president Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte.
The original drone footage was uploaded by the Facebook page “Cebu ni Bai” and was taken during the Planetshakers concert on Feb. 23, 2024, in Cebu.
Another drone angle of the footage was uploaded to TikTok, clearly showing that the concert was held in Cebu City, and not in Mandaue, providing further evidence that the claim is false.
On Feb. 23, the Mandaue police said that the indignation rally had an estimated attendance of 3,000 to 4,000 people, contrary to the 40,000 attendees claimed by pro-Duterte supporters.
As of writing, the manipulated video has drawn 866,000 views and 19,500 reactions on Facebook. Leigh San Diego
