CLAIM: Cardinal Tagle is endorsing a milk brand cure as a cure for diabetes.
RATING: FALSE

Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle has disowned a Facebook post claiming he was endorsing a milk brand as a cure for diabetes.

The Filipino Vatican official clarified that he did not endorse any product such as creams or milk.

Based on the photo posted by Tagle, the fake “Fr. Luis Antonio Tagle” account boosted the post to reach a wider audience, with the caption that milk allowed the former Manila archbishop to stop taking maintenance medicines for diabetes.

The profile picture of the fake Facebook account carried a bogus blue check and the post in question contained a link to the Department of Health (DOH) to make it appear legitimate.

The post and account are no longer available on Facebook. — Nicaflor Baltazar
