The Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday reported that enrollment figures for School Year 2021-2022 were up 3.83 percent compared to last year.
According to the DepEd, 27,232,095 students were enrolled as of Nov. 15.
“This enrollment is 1,005,073 or 3.83 percent higher than the 26,227,022 enrollment last school year,” the agency said.
Public school enrollment is up 5.23 percent, or 1,187,632 students, the DepEd added.
Private school enrollment decreased by 4.83 percent, from 3,375,748 million last school year to 3,212,728 this year.
Enrollment numbers in state universities and colleges and local universities and colleges also decreased.
The DepEd noted that 612,140 students transferred from public to private schools, while more than 305,513 transferred from private to public schools.
