Eastern Visayas (Region VIII) posted a total of 4,131 dengue cases since January, the Department of Health (DOH) – Region VIII said.
The cases were reported in Leyte, Eastern Samar and Samar provinces.
Among the total cases, fatalities currently stand at 9.
Meanwhile, the DOH reported that current cases this year are lower by 34% compared to last year’s 6,301 cases during the same period.
27 died in the region in 2019 due to dengue.
The health department encouraged the public to strictly observe preventive measures to control the spread of dengue. (RJ Espartinez)
