President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night cautioned the public against fly-by-night stores and other unauthorized sellers of counterfeit Covid-19 medicine.
“Huwag kayong basta-bastang bumili at kayong mga sa gobyerno, ‘pag nahuli ninyo ‘yan sila na peke, e tignan natin ang kung totoo o hindi,” he said In his “Talk to the People” address.
“Ipainom mo o i-inject mo sa kanila para malaman natin kung well, e kung mamatay, e ‘di sorry. Kung magtanong sila kung sino ang nag-utos nito, sabihin mo si Duterte,” he added.
Duterte said he was especially curious with sellers of fake viagra.
“Sampung viagra kayo because we are interested to know what happens to the idiots if they are given the drugs na sila ang mag-inom… Ipaubos mo ‘yang sampu sa bunganga nila. Now, kung may magtanong sinong nag-utos, sabihin mo ako in our program,” he said.
Duterte said he did not care if the International Criminal Court (ICC) would find out about his recent directive.
“Now ngayon, kung mamatay kayo, okay lang. Magdemanda kayo? Okay lang rin. Walang problema. Ang kaso ko patong na. Sabi pa ng ICC na 70,000 daw ang pinatay ko, ay p***** i**. Ang rami naman niyan,” he said.
Food and Drug Administration officer in charge Oscar Gutierrez also reminded the public to only buy drugs and kits from FDA-approved outlets.
“Sa ngayon po, never buy medicines from sari-sari stores. Diyan po marami po talagang fake. The source is dubious. All medicines po kasi should be sourced from FDA-licensed establishments only,” he said. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
