President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said he would educate Filipinos on the “wrongs” of the presidential candidates in the 2022 elections to help them choose the best president.

In a “Talk to the People” address, Duterte said he would talk about the elections “in due time.”

“Siguro mga last month of [my term], I will personally name the candidates and maybe what’s wrong with them na kailangan malaman ng tao because you are electing a president,” the president said.

Duterte has yet to side with a 2022 presidential candidate. He had been pushing for the presidency of his special aide Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, but the latter had withdrawn his candidacy.

Duterte’s party, PDP-Laban, which due to infighting did not field presidential and vice presidential candidates, has adopted Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte as its vice presidential candidate.

The president said he would also name the “most corrupt” candidate.

“Sino ‘yung pinaka-corrupt na kandidato…You know, hindi ako namumulitika. I am talking to you as your president,” he said.

“There are things that which you must know sa aking trabaho and ito kailangan ilalabas ko kasi we are talking of elections, we are talking of our country and the next rulers, so to say, so to speak,” he added.

Of the 10 presidential candidates for 2022, Duterte has feuded with or publicly criticized five: Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, late dictator’s son Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr, Sen. Manny Pacquiao and Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
