President Rodrigo Duterte is set to address the nation Wednesday night, Malacañang announced/

In his last public address Monday night, Duterte said he was inclined to approve the extension of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

The following day, Cabinet Secretary and Interagency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases spokesperson Karlo Nograles announced that the president has approved the extension of the Luzon-wide lockdown to April 30.

In the same late Monday night address, Duterte admitted that he is worried about where to source the cash that would fund the financial aid for the poor.  He also floated the idea of expanding the aid to the middle class.

Luzon has been placed under a total lockdown since since March 16 to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Other areas outside Luzon, like Cebu province and the entire Davao Region have been under total lockdown as well.  (Rommel F. Lopez)
