President Rodrigo Duterte has received his booster vaccine jab against Covid-19, his spokesman confirmed on Friday.

In a virtual presser, acting Palace spokesman Karlo Nograles said Duterte was boosted using the Sinopharm vaccine, which the president also used during his primary vaccination.

“Sa declaration niya kagabi sa Talk to the People, it appears na nakapag-booster na si Pangulo at Sinopharm ang nagamit. Doon iyon sa sinabi niya kagabi, sa ‘Talk to the People,'” Nograles said.

Duterte only ambiguously mentioned getting his Sinopharm booster in a conversation with Oscar Gutierrez Jr., officer in charge of the Food and Drug Administration, during the said address, wherein he asked if the Sinopharm vaccine was among the vaccines that had emergency use licenses.

The president completed his vaccination in July 2021.

The Philippines has received 1.1 million Sinopharm doses to date, which is the least among two-dose Covid-19 vaccines. All were donated by China. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
