Brands of available Covid-19 vaccines will only be revealed at vaccination sites, President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered.
Malacañang on Thursday said Duterte issued the order to prevent people from flocking to vaccination sites for specific vaccine brands.
“Si presidente po ang nag-utos niyan dahil nakita nga po niya iyong kawalan ng social distancing doon sa ilang lugar kung saan in-announce ang pagbabakuna ng Pfizer,” Palace spokesman Harry Roque said in a virtual presser.
The Pfizer vaccine was found to be 100-percent effective in preventing diseases defined by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as “severe” and 95.3-percent effective in preventing same-labeled diseases of the US Food and Drug Administration.
Roque said the public had nothing to worry about as all vaccines were safe and effective.
“Lahat naman po ng bakuna ay pantay-pantay, dumaan po iyan sa masusing pag-aaral, lahat po iyan ligtas at epektibo. Kaya nga po ang pinakamabuting bakuna ay iyong ilalagay sa inyong mga braso,” he said.
