President Rodrigo Duterte has signed Executive Order (EO) No. 140 adopting the National Employment Recovery Strategy (NERS) as his administration’s master plan for boosting the labor market, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said.
The eight-point recovery plan signed on June 25 aims to create jobs, provide livelihood training, guide fresh graduates, and preserve existing employment, stated the EO, which was made public on Tuesday.
“Ang muling pag-angat ng ekonomiya at pagbalik-sigla sa larangan ng paggawa ay nakakasalalay sa pagtutulungan ng private sector at ng civil society,” DOLE Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay said in the Laging Handa public briefing on Thursday.
The NERS Task Force (TF) is composed of 20 government agencies headed by DOLE and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), said Tutay.
