President Rodrigo Duterte is healthy, Malacañang said on Friday, a day after it announced that the chief executive was exposed to a household staff who was Covid-19 positive.

In a virtual presser, acting Palace spokesman Karlo Nograles said Duterte had completed his quarantine.

“Pagkatapos ng kaniyang routine medical checkup, okay naman si pangulo, he is as healthy as any healthy individual at his age could be,” he said.

Nograles said Duterte had a “Talk to the People” address scheduled for Monday next week.

Duterte, 76, is fully vaccinated and boosted with the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine.

According to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, it was last Friday when Duterte was exposed to the disease.

Fully vaccinated individuals are required by the Department of Health to undergo at least a seven-day quarantine after exposure to Covid-19. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
