
President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Michael Ong as the new associate justice of the Court of Appeals (CA).
The appointment was announced by acting Palace spokesman Karlo Nograles on Thursday.
“We wish CA Justice Ong success in the Court of Appeals, and we are confident that he will continue to uphold the rule of law and to dispense justice with integrity, impartiality and probity,” Nograles said.
Ong took his oath before Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo on Thursday morning.

Ong had been senior deputy executive secretary from August 2018 until he was appointed to the CA.
He had worked in Malacañang under the Office of the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel and the Office of the Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
