President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Antonio Kho, Jr., a former commissioner of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), as associate justice of Supreme Court (SC).
The appointment was announced by acting Palace spokesman Karlo Nograles on Wednesday.
Nograles said the president signed Kho’s appointment papers on Wednesday.
“We wish Associate Justice Kho success in the Supreme Court, and we are confident that he will continue to dispense justice to every man, woman and child with integrity, impartiality and fairness,” Nograles said.
Kho was Comelec commissioner from August 2018 until he reached the mandatory retirement age on Feb. 2.
He will fill the position vacated by Associate Justice Rosmari Carandang, who retired on Jan. 9.
