President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said his six-year term was not enough for his administration to complete all his projects.

During the inauguration of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Building Complex in Pasig City, the president said it was not negligence that led to the incompletion of some of his programs but time.

“The things that I failed to do mostly not because of negligence or may mga shortcomings ako but talagang time, I said, the six years would not be enough to finish all the projects,” he said.

Duterte also said that he had done all he could in his six years as president.

“In a few days, I’ll be out. ‘Yung nagawa ko, para sa akin, iyon na ‘yun. The best that my efforts can really achieve. Kung kulang pa ‘yun, pasensiya na po, ‘yun hindi ko na talaga kaya,” he said.

“Build, Build, Build” is Duterte’s trillion-peso infrastructure program.

Of the program’s 119 flagship projects, 19 will be completed by June 2022, before Duterte steps down from office.

Nearly 90 projects are expected to finish construction by 2023. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
