The Philippines reported 8,122 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, raising the nationwide tally to 892,880.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), 12 Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

With this, total active Covid-19 cases in the country is now at 173,047.

Among the active cases, 96.3% are mild, 2.4% are asymptomatic, 0.5% are severe, and 0.4% are in critical condition.

The country’s recovery rate increased to 704,386 with 501 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory disease.

Death toll, on the other hand, is now at 15,447 with 162 new fatalities.

The DOH also announced that it successfully removed 25 duplicate cases from the nationwide tally. 

“Moreover, 64 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said. Ronald dela Cruz
