The Philippines logged 2,934 new Covid-19 infections from January 9 to January 15, the Department of Health (DOH) said. 

The DOH’s latest bulletin showed that the said tally is lower than the 3,127 infections reported from January 2 to 8.

The daily case average for this week is 419. 

The DOH added that among the new cases, one is tagged as severe or critical.

Meanwhile, 116 fatalities were confirmed during the past week. Among the said number, 14 happened January 2 to January 15.

The DOH further said that 37 of the deaths occurred in December 2022, six in November 2022, three in October 2022, 13 in September 2022, 17 in August 2022, two in February 2022, three in January 2022, and 20 deaths in 2021 and 2020.

Currently, the Philippines has already vaccinated a total of 73.8 million individuals with 21.2 million having received booster shots or additional doses.
