The Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 15 new fireworks-related injuries from December 25 to 26.

The total number of pyrotechnic injuries now stands at 20.

The DOH explained that the tally was the same compared to the same period last year.

The health department added that last Dec. 24 to 25, only one injury was reported. The total tally back then was 5. The said number was 50% lower than the recorded injuries from last year within the same period.

The Department of Trade and Industry earlier advised the public to avoid buying uncertified fireworks, adding that these products may cause injury and property damage. It also shared a list of certified fireworks brands.
