The Department of Health (DOH) said that it has already found the 22 close contacts of the 4th Omicron case in the country, confirming that they are still verifying their test results.
“The DOH has found 22 close contacts of the 4th Omicron case from the PR 127 flight. This includes the husband of the case, who also tested positive,” the Department of Health (DOH) said.
The health department said that they were working closely with the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to check the health status of the close contacts.
“The DOH is currently verifying the test results of all close contacts and have coordinated with the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to verify the health status of these cases,” it added.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the fourth infection is a 38-year-old female who came from the United States and arrived in the country on December 10.
The traveler tested positive for the Omicron variant on December 25. The patient is now undergoing home quarantine while being monitored by the DOH, Vergeire said.
Moreover, the husband of the 4th case of the Omicron variant tested positive for Covid-19 as well, but is still undergoing genome sequencing. Ronald Espartinez
