The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced 26 more Filipinos abroad contracting the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

This brings the total number of infections to 18,416 including 5,980 active Covid-19 cases as of May 4.

The DFA confirmed that Filipino Covid-19 patients came from 94 countries: 10,453 cases in the Middle East and Africa, 3,597 in the Asia-Pacific region, 3,385 in Europe, and 981 in the Americas.

Recovery rate of Filipinos abroad increased to 11,289 with 12 more Filipinos winning the battle against the deadly illness.

Death toll remains at 1,147 with no new deaths according to the Foreign Affairs department. Ronald dela Cruz
