The Department of Education (DepEd) has suspended the limited face-to-face (F2F) classes in select Metro Manila schools amid increasing Covid-19 cases in the region.

In a statement, the DepEd said F2F classes would be allowed again once Metro Manila reverts to Alert Level 2.

Metro Manila was placed under Alert Level 3 from Jan. 3 to 15, 2022.

“[F2F] classes in pilot schools in areas under Alert Levels 1 and 2 shall continue in the meantime that DepEd finalizes its report on the pilot [F2F] classes,” the DepEd said.

The limited F2F classes for basic education started on Nov. 15, 2021.

According to the DepEd, the pilot run of limited F2F classes, which has involved nearly 300 schools, has been successful.

Basic and higher education classes are prohibited under Alert Level 3, according to the latest Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases memorandum. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
