Education Secretary Leonor Briones on Monday said her department was expecting schools to have a full implementation of face-to-face (F2F) classes next school year.

In a “Laging Handa” briefing, the outgoing Department of Education (DepEd) chief said 73.28 percent of public schools nationwide had started F2F classes.

As of May 26, 34,238 schools have been nominated for F2F classes, of which 33,000 were public schools and 1,174 were private schools.

Public school classes for school year 2022-2023 are scheduled to begin on Aug. 22.

The ongoing school year 2021-2022 is scheduled to close on June 24. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
