The Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday reported that 35 schools were damaged by the magnitude 7 quake that shook Abra and nearby areas on Wednesday.
According to the DepEd, 11 schools were damaged in Region 3, nine in Region 2, eight in the Cordillera Administrative Region and seven in Region 1.
Rebuilding and restructuring the damaged schools would cost P228.5 million, the DepEd said.
A total of 8,027 schools were affected by the earthquake.
The earthquake hit parts of Luzon with less than one month left before the Aug. 22 opening of classes.
