Dengue cases in the Philippines continue to spike in nine out of 17 regions, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

Vergeire said the country reported 23,414 dengue cases from July 3, 2022 to July 30, 2022.

She added that 18,208 or 78% of the dengue cases had been admitted to hospitals.

Vergeire said it is important to follow the DOH’s 4S strategy in fighting the deadly disease.

She also advised the public to immediately visit health centers once dengue symptoms appear.

Earlier, the DOH reported a total of 102,619 dengue cases from January 1 to July 30, 2022—131% higher compared to the cases logged during the same period in 2021.
