The Philippines has logged a total of 331 cases of the highly contagious Delta variant. 

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 116 new infections on Thursday. 

Among the new infections, 95 were local cases, one is a returning overseas Filipino (ROF), while 20 of them are still under investigation. 

Most of the local cases were found in Metro Manila which accounted for 83 cases, three from Calabarzon, four from Central Visayas, two from the Davao region, while the Zamboanga Peninsula, Cagayan Valley, and Ilocos regions each reported kne case. 

“All cases have been tagged as recovered. All other information is being validated by our regional and local health offices,” the DOH said.

A patient who was tested in two different laboratories was recounted as one from the nationwide tally, according to the health agency. 

The Philippines also logged 113 new Alpha variant infections, 122 Beta cases, and 10 new P.3 variants. Ronald Espartinez
