The Department of Education (DepEd) has declared December 12, 2020 as the last day of classes of the first quarter of public schools.

DepEd said kindergarten to grade 12 students in the country will also take their holiday break from December 19, 2020 to January 3, 2021.

Classes will resume on January 4, 2021.

Furthermore, In-Service Training Week will happen from December 14 to 19, 2020.

Remote classes in the country commenced on October 5, several weeks delayed from DepEd’s original plan on August 24, so teachers and students can prepare for online and modular distance learning.

Under the distance learning setup, schools may give their lessons through online classes, or via use of printed modules, or use of TV and radio due to the onslaught of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic. RJ Espartinez
