Davao City police arrested a municipal councilor of Kiblawan, Davao del Sur who was caught in a shabu session in inside his rented store in the city’s public market on Saturday.
The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) said they arrested Kiblawan Councilor Cipriano Sarona, 53, from General Lim St., Poblacion Kiblawan, Davao del Sur and two others who were caught in the act sniffing shabu at the Bankerohan Public Market in Davao City Saturday morning.
Sarona’s companions were identified as Butch Eltagonde Amarillo, 38, married, resident of Sto. Niño, Kiblawan, Davao del Sur, employed as a Driver (Job Order status) ok Kiblawan municipality and Archie Napoles Truya, 31 years old, single, Mango Harvester, resident of Purok 6A-1 Los Amigos, Tugbok Dist., Davao City.
Confiscated from the suspects were shabu and illegal drug paraphernalia.
DCPO chief Police Colonel Kirby John said the suspects were caught “sniffing shabu inside a half opened store in Bankerohan rented by Sarona.” Sarona regularly goes to Davao City to supply mangoes in Bankerohan. Sarona and his companions were caught inside Sarona’s mango store in Bankerohan.
“This is a sad note for us because there are still government officials who were arrested due to illegal drugs,” Kraft said.
Kraft said Sarona is considered a high value target and is included in the drug list of the DCPO.
The suspects will be charged for violation of the Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. (Rommel F. Lopez)
