Davao del Norte has launched a program to boost its coffee production in a bid to become a major supplier in the lucrative industry.
The program, dubbed “Coffee Adaptive Training Approach-cum-Organizational Strengthening of Davao del Norte Coffee Cluster,” seeks to make the province an important player in the coffee industry where demand is higher than the supply
Department of Trade and Industry provincial director, Romeo Castañaga was quoted by the Philippine Information Agency as saying: “We want Davao del Norte to address the gap of coffee supply.”
Gov. Edwin Jubahib said the program would be an opportunity for farmers to boost their income by taking advantage of the high demand for coffee, where the price can go as high as P400 per kilo. Jojo Mangahis
